Downloading these images and viewing them on your ipad is not a screen shot. You are confusing this post/method with a different one. However, another method to check for dead or stuck pixels is to take a photo with your new ipad in the dark and/or of a white background (paper) with the flash OFF. This works because it gives you 1 single consistent color to identify dead or stuck pixels on your new ipad. However, the one concern when taking a photo in the dark is focus. The camera can’t focus sharply in the dark (without the assistance of flash, which the new ipad 3 does NOT have). As a result, your photo will not be sharp and dead or stuck pixels will be more difficult to locate than using the backgrounds I have provided.

just tried the test and it worked great, to bad i have bad pixels.
one thing i dont understand is why would a defective pixel show up in a screenshot ?
my best guess is that the ipad reads the video memory of the current state of the screen.
does anyone know how it works or why it shows in a screenshot ?
